In frontline and high-risk regions, time and access matter: transportation, safe routes, basic resources. That is why mobile veterinary care is critical — it allows veterinarians to be present exactly where waiting for “a better moment” can cost a life.
In unbreakable Nikopol, a city that takes daily hits yet refuses to give up, veterinarian Mariia Dubinska continues her mission through mobile veterinary care. This work is not about big words — it’s about doing what must be done, because animals are hurting, because they are waiting, and because there are people who choose not to look away.
One of the visits led the team to the “Chance for Life” shelter, home to more than 300 dogs. Here, there are many hard stories: injuries, exhaustion, long recoveries. And at the same time — an incredible sense of gratitude for a chance to live, for care, and for not being abandoned.
Among dozens of cases, some stay with you.
Odina was pulled from under the rubble. He survived, went through complex treatment and recovery, and today he is still searching for his family — the people who will become his home.
Kosmos, after a severe paw injury, managed to return to an active life and became a champion again — and the most devoted friend to his family.
These are only a few stories. There are dozens more like them — different cities, different fates, but one shared truth: every life matters.
We are deeply grateful to AVMF for the support and large-scale assistance that helps strengthen veterinary welfare. Partnerships like this make it possible to deliver real, consistent help where it must be fast, practical, and reliable.
