Cooperation between UVMF and AEMV: caring for exotic animals and supporting Ukrainian veterinarians

The Ukrainian Veterinary Medicine Foundation (UVMF) is pleased to share the results of our fruitful cooperation with the Association of Exotic Animal Veterinarians (AEMV).

Thanks to our joint efforts, we have successfully implemented a number of important initiatives aimed at helping exotic animals. We also supported Ukrainian veterinarians who work and are passionate about exotics.

The results of the cooperation:

• Treatment of exotic animals
  Thanks to the joint programmes of UVMF and AEMV, professional veterinary care was provided for 140 exotic animals.
• Feed donation
  We donated 500 kg of food to a shelter for exotic animals. This help was a lifesaver for the animals under the care of volunteers.
• Support for postgraduate education
  A conference dedicated to the treatment and care of exotic animals was held in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. 80 participants – veterinarians from all over Ukraine – were able to improve their skills and gain new knowledge.

We greatly appreciate the cooperation and support of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. In these difficult times for our country, resources for animal welfare are limited, and exotic animals are particularly vulnerable to stress and lack of qualified care.

Thanks to AEMV’s commitment, we are able to provide treatment, nutrition and educational initiatives that save lives and improve the level of veterinary medicine in Ukraine.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the AEMV Board and every member of the association for their incredible support and faith in our common cause. Your contribution means not only helping animals, but also supporting Ukrainian veterinarians who work every day for the well-being of our pets.
