UVMF and The Edgard & Cooper Foundation Join Forces to Support Animals in Odesa and the Kherson Region
The Ukrainian Veterinary Medicine Foundation (UVMF) is launching a free veterinary care program for animals in Odesa and the Kherson Region with the support of The Edgard & Cooper Foundation. Thanks to this partnership, animals in need will be able to receive treatment, rabies vaccinations, spaying and neutering, antiparasitic treatment, and veterinary care through outreach visits.
For many pet owners, animal caregivers, and people who look after stray dogs and cats in their communities, access to veterinary care remains critically important. This is especially true in regions that continue to live under the conditions of the full-scale war.
That is why UVMF aims not only to respond to individual cases but also to create opportunities for systematic and accessible veterinary support — from disease prevention to essential treatment.
A new step in this work has become possible thanks to the support of The Edgard & Cooper Foundation, enabling the free veterinary care program to operate in Odesa and the Kherson Region.
What kind of support will animals receive?
Under the program, veterinary care will be provided free of charge to animals in need.
The program includes:
- veterinary outreach visits;
- treatment;
- rabies vaccination;
- spaying and neutering;
- antiparasitic treatment.
This work is not only about helping an individual animal at a particular moment. Vaccination, sterilization, and preventive treatments are also essential for the long-term welfare of dogs and cats, humane management of stray animal populations, and prevention of dangerous infectious diseases.
A partner committed to animal welfare
The Edgard & Cooper Foundation is an independent charitable organization created by Edgard & Cooper.
Since the company was founded in 2016, Edgard & Cooper has committed to donating 1% of its sales to help dogs and cats through the Foundation. To date, more than €4.3 million has been donated to support its work.
The mission of The Edgard & Cooper Foundation is clear and ambitious: to improve the lives of dogs and cats today while preventing their suffering in the future.
The Foundation works toward a world in which every animal has access to what it needs to live a long, healthy, and safe life — including food and water, proper shelter, vaccination, veterinary care, space, and social interaction.

Among the areas supported by The Edgard & Cooper Foundation are veterinary treatment, mass rabies vaccination, spaying and neutering programs, humane stray animal population management, veterinary training, and community education.
From international projects to support for animals in Ukraine
The Edgard & Cooper Foundation works with partner organizations in different parts of the world.
Its supported initiatives include veterinary clinics and large-scale spay and neuter programs in South Africa, care for stray and vulnerable companion animals in Nepal, rabies vaccination and sterilization programs in India and Tanzania, veterinary care and dog population management initiatives in Georgia, as well as veterinary training and mobile clinic projects in Bolivia and Chile.
Despite the different countries and local challenges, these projects share one common goal: veterinary support should not only help an animal today but also create conditions in which fewer animals are left without care in the future.
This approach strongly aligns with UVMF’s own mission and work in Ukraine.

For the Ukrainian Veterinary Medicine Foundation, the partnership with The Edgard & Cooper Foundation is an opportunity to expand access to essential veterinary care and support animals in regions where the need remains particularly high.
